Mahaska is looking for a hard-working, dedicated team player to lead the conventional route drivers.  The Route Manager drives the execution of the business and motivates team members to achieve the best results and to drive continuous process improvement.  This position is responsible for managing drivers, ensuring safety and other business protocols are being developed and maintained.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provides first line supervision to route drivers.
  • Ensures routes are being executed in an efficient manner.
  • Maintains and provides quality customer service.
  • Secures inventory by executing controls and ensuring strict compliance with security procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains accountability on the front line of the market.  Maintains a positive Employee Relations and work environment.  
  • Schedule and develops staff.


Minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum of 21 years of age or older.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Computer skills

Essential Job Functions:

1. Deliver, install and repair all sales equipment.  Explain their proper use to the customers.

2. Responsible in maintaining a good public relation with the customer and the public in general.

3. Responsible to attend all meetings and training schools as assigned by the Manager or Assistant Manager of vending.

4. Assist in keeping parts inventory both in shop and on service trucks.

5. Keep trucks and equipment clean at all times and stocked with necessary parts for the job requirement while ensuring security of all company property.

6. Help maintain the best possible working conditions in shop and see that it is orderly and clean at all times.

7. Check dispatch system for repairs to be completed.

8. Maintain good personal work habits, clean uniforms, remain productive, and complete all assigned orders.

9. Keep all necessary records relating to the equipment placements, pickups, and repairs.

10. Report all vehicle accidents, on the job injury, or property damage at once to the office.

11. Report any problems with your job or work order immediately to the department director.

12. Assist in returning any in-warranty parts or equipment for credit by correctly tagging same with necessary information required.

13. Attain and maintain an informed position on all aspects of the company.

14. Communicate opinions on current and future sales equipment and parts with department director.

15. Continue to update personal knowledge required to repair, install and maintain all types of sales equipment and to report any training deficiencies to your department director for further development.

16. Responsible to aid the complete training and supervision of other service technicians when so directed by your department director.

17. Recommend positive alterations in daily routines and  procedures.

18. Report any under utilized sales equipment and/or improper use of sales equipment in our trade area - this includes equipment placed at locations that are no longer in business.

19. Responsible for continuous evaluation of all sales personnel, and to report your comments immediately to your department director, making sure sales force is trained.  This includes such procedures as plugging in the machine, replacing light bulbs, un-jamming coin mechanisms, changing prices, and external/internal cleaning of equipment.

20. Responsible for weekend duty when designated by personnel rotation.

21. Responsible to collect cash for any product or equipment delivered to an unauthorized charge account.

22. Responsible for handling all special events and emergency service calls when so directed by your department director.

23. Report any competitive activity and remain alert for new customers.

24. Necessary to obtain proper E.P.A. certification prior to any refrigeration repair activity.

25. Abides by and possesses thorough knowledge of all current refrigeration handling regulations, ie. venting, recovery and handling procedures.

26. Make calls with sales personnel when directed and suggest to prospective customers the proper equipment and installation of same.

27. Report to the Quality Assurance Director any problems that pertain to quality control, ensuring that all product returned to plant is properly tagged.  Collect product samples from accounts as directed for analysis.

28. Obtain new accounts and increase sales at existing accounts through promotion of the company’s full equipment and product line in soft drinks, ice, water, and snacks.

29. Deliver, install and repair various sales equipment.

30. Repair company HVAC equipment, when time allows.

31. Must have regular and reliable attendance.

As System Engineer, you are responsible to the company management for understanding, installing, and implementing all systems and software used by the company. You are responsible for monitoring all systems and repairing any hardware or software.

Position: Sunday Part-Time Merchandiser 

Mahaska is looking for a reliable individual to merchandise Mahaska products in customer stores in Albia/Centerville. Responsible for product rotation and stocking on store shelves, displays, and in coolers. 

Position requires approximately two to three hours per Sunday.

Job Summary:          Professionally represent Mahaska in servicing assigned retail customers according to scheduled call frequency. Merchandising, and other goals assigned by the Route Manager.

 

Supervisory Responsibility:  None

 

Reports To:               Express Route Manager

 

Essential Job Functions:

  1.                                                       Regularly call on all assigned customers. When deviating from the set schedule, inform Route Manager.
  2.                                                       Develop relationship with key people at store level.  Use relationship to promote analytical approach to soft drink category management.
  3.                                                       Monitor competitive activity.
  4.                                                      Have a thorough understanding of competitive strengths and weaknesses.
  5.                                                       Actively work to achieve Model Store criteria in each account serviced.
  6.                                                      Communications is important check your voice mail regularly and know who the contact person is on weekends. Communicate with Pre-Salesman.
  7.                                                       Ensure out-of-date and damaged product is immediately removed from the shelf or display and placed in the backroom.
  8.                                                      Keep beverage sections, displays, vendors, and merchandising equipment properly cleaned, filled, and rotated according to Model Store standards.  Keep back stock organized and rotated.
  9.                                                       Notice competitive activity away from beverage section.  Communicate to Route Manager opportunities, which are available in account.
  10.                                                       Maintain the company's assigned shelf space and prevent encroachment by competitors.
  11.                                                       Gather shells and empties to one location in backroom.
  12.                                                       Perform merchandising as scheduled.
  13.                                                       Communicate with delivery representative on a regular basis any issues regarding back stock rotation, placement, or bulk orders.
  14.                                                       Communicate with Pre-Salesman on a regular basis any product outage on sales floor.  Note movement of competitive products as well.
  15.                                                       Communicate schedule changes or factors that affect other team members to Route Manager in a timely manner.  Assist Route Manager in coordination of necessary adjustments with Delivery Drivers.
  16.                                                       Maintain a valid driver's license.  Maintain a safe driving record.
  17.                                                      If and when driving a company vehicle, visually inspect vehicle and check oil daily. Report all accidents and damage done to the vehicle.
  18.                                                       Always conduct yourself and operate company equipment in a safe manner according to company policies and procedures. Report any unsafe conditions or actions to your supervisor immediately.
  19.                                                       Report any injuries to yourself or others to your supervisor immediately and promptly complete all appropriate forms and reports.
  20.                                                       Must have reliable and regular attendance.
